MP visits Horses Helping People Therapeutic Horsemanship Centre

John Bercow recently paid a visit to Horses Helping People Therapeutic Horsemanship Centre, near Aston Clinton. John is a keen supporter of social enterprise and was interested in finding out more.

John met the Horses Helping People team and heard about the service offered to the local community, including equine activities for adults and children from disadvantaged backgrounds and with special needs. Participants, who range from young carers and children with behavioural needs through to adults with mental health problems and addictions, can improve their mental and physical wellbeing while learning new skills, with horses as their guides.

John said, “Horses Helping People strikes me as a thoroughly worthwhile venture, run by people who combine expertise with enthusiasm. I do hope that commissioners of child and adult services alike will see for themselves what Horses Helping People can offer and decide to use its services as appropriate for local people.”
