On Monday 1st October, John Bercow presented Duke of Edinburgh Silver Awards to eight students of Furze Down School at a presentation held in the State Rooms at Speaker’s House.

Achieving the award involves completing a personal programme of activities; volunteering, physical challenge, developing practical and social skills and planning and completing an adventurous expedition.

John congratulated the students on their impressive achievement and presented them with their certificates and silver DofE pins and gave them all copy of a book about Speaker’s House with an individual message.
